First Day Cover from Finland!

Happy Happy M....THURSDAY!!! Oh goodness.....seems like updating has gotten a bit away from me....

Well, happy, happy Thursday Readers! I hope that everyone is making it along well for this week. Mail is beginning to get a little heavier in my neck of the woods...seems the letter burst before I went on vacation has helped me to keep the mail man circling :)  I've picked up a good handful today that I have to rate/reply/photograph for you all but I thought one letter I would post about ASAP. Hope you all like it! Let's go...

I opened my mail box this afternoon to find a letter (one of few) which had arrived from Finland! Inside, a long-handwritten letter and a beautiful postcards (which I am going to secretly stash for myself.....) comes from Swap partner Mette!

A postmark from Helsinki and a stamp featuring Turronsuo National Park. Located near the Tavastia Proper region of Finland, this all but natural swampland area was already protected before being declared a park in 1990.

The Envelope! Featuring the First Day Cover art called "The Spring of Life", created by Pietari Posti. More of Posti's work can be seen by going to this website.

What an awesome thing to get in your mailbox! Thank you Mette, I will write back very soon. :) In the mean time I am off to get my new mail logged and get a couple of postcards out for the day! Happy Mailing!

  1. Really, Randi, I don't know how you manage to be so happy all the time. I guess all the mail helps. I just wanted to share with you my most recent blog post, where I have photographed some of my vintage stationery collection.

  2. HAHAHA I think it is just easier to be happy! Trust me, I used to be grumpy and pessimistic all the time, just had to get it in my head to take things for what they are (easier said than done...) BUT I am sure that the mail helps :D

Im off to check out your stationery! Thanks for reading!!!
