Postcard Request! Help some students out!

Hello Readers and Happy Happy Wednesday! I saw this on Bev Sykes site The Pen Pal Project. Seems one of her friends works at a school and they are collecting as many different postcards as they can for their diversity/international day. It doesn't matter if they get multiples from each city/state/country--it just matters that they get some in! Mail Update!!

Happy Labor Day weekend all!! I am so happy to be back to the world of the Internet but even more excited to update you all on the fantastic mail I have gotten in the last week! I have a whole mess of pictures to show you (as well as the new furry addition to my family) and I *did* keep my list of outgoing mail this week (hurrayyyyy). This weeks mail came from Swap -Bot, Postcrossing, Walltype, Letternet and assorted pen pals.Lets get to it shall we?

Oh, Wednesday, you never let me down!

I told you all that Tuesday would be slow, but once again (well for the third time a row) Wednesday has made up for it and then some. Today's mail came mostly from Walltype and Swap-bot, but there was also a letter from Ms. Bev over at The Pen Pal Project!!! Let's get to pictures, huh?

This came from Carol in North Dakota. A pen pal letter swap, she sent me a great letter telling me about the beautiful piece of land that she lives on and she even sent me some recipes that she has tried recently :)

My final piece for the night is my letter from Bev. Not only did she send me a note, but she sent it too me using a trans-continental flight menu as the envelope! The flight was from Hong-Kong to San Francisco. How cool is this?

All-in-all I'd say it was a pretty good day for mail :) I'm off to write a letter for one of my swap that has come due--I think I'm going to check out Walltype tonight, I haven't sent a card from there in a few weeks.

Snail Mail from China

 A couple of weeks ago I swapped a postcard on Postcrossing with user YJ1989060 from Beijing, China. She sent me a beautiful card of the sea coast that was actually the winner of a photo competition and made in to a postcard! (Apparently collecting the postcards published from these competitions is quite popular amongst the younger crowd in Beijing.)

We agreed to a private swap and today the goods arrived (for both of us ironically enough)

The envelope and stamps

Each postcard is a winner of a photo/art competition that was published and each one is numbered. The red pocket (Top L) is an item that is used during festivals or holidays and is usually given from adults to children with money inside. Mine had stamps included hahah!
